For a true thrill, take a lap around NASCAR’s Texas Motor Speedway. Measuring 1.5 miles around, the track is banked twenty-four degrees in the turns and is oval in shape where the front straightaway juts outward slightly. With the ability to seat over 190,000, Texas Motor Speedway boasts the second largest capacity for any NASCAR track (behind Indianapolis Motor Speedway). We know you love your new hometown, but if some of the most-talked about teams in the nation play a mere 45-minute drive away, it might be worth a trip to the neighboring cities to see them. Opened to the public in 2009, Arlington’s AT&T Stadium, home to the Dallas Cowboys, is the NFL football mecca. The Cowboy Stadium site covers 73 acres and is 900 feet in length, from one end-zone retractable wall to the opposite end-zone retractable wall. The Dallas Mavericks play basketball in Dallas at the American Airlines Center, which is also home to the Dallas Stars, an American professional hockey team.

In Arlington, baseball’s Texas Rangers made a long-awaited World Series appearance in 2010 at their turn-of-the-century style Globe Life Ballpark. The ballpark can seat more than 50,000 spectators and features a Legends of the Game museum. This unique complex also includes a children’s learning center, a four-story office building within the ballpark, a youth baseball park, a 12-acre lake, and parks and recreation space on the perimeter.
