The Special Education Department supports the Fort Worth ISD’s focus on academic achievement and student preparation for a successful post-secondary life. Through its educational system, all students with disabilities are prepared for career life. General education and special education teachers alike incorporate a curriculum, teach state standards, adjust instruction (when needed), and meet the needs of all students. The department supports the district’s focus on all sections, including English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. It also provides support of services to students, as required by the Admission, Review, or Dismissal (ARD) Committee and as stated in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

The Parenting Center and Child Study Center are non-profit organizations that serve to support parents and children with special needs.
